The 4 fundamental aspects that influence animal welfare
Akongo is dedicated to improving animal welfare through research programmes and innovative methods. To take your projects further, discover our tools and collaborative solutions.
A unique approach to animal welfare
Akongo is a research organisation that supports zoos and laboratories in projects focused on animal welfare. We have developed a unique approach, called Animal Welfare Commitment (EBEA), which is based on team commitment and training, technological innovation, and behavioural monitoring. With EBEA, you can quickly and efficiently deploy research projects and initiatives to improve animal welfare.
For zoos, our method also includes communication tools dedicated to visitors, thus helping to raise public awareness of animal welfare.
A Proven Method for Animal Welfare Monitoring
We work closely with your teams, on-site and remotely, throughout the year. We are present at every stage to ensure regular monitoring, facilitate communication between teams, and deliver lasting results.
We are recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation as a research organisation. This accreditation allows our partners to benefit from the Research Tax Credit (CIR) for their projects in ethology and animal welfare.
We are Qualiopi certified for our training courses in ethology and animal welfare, adapted to professionals in zoos and laboratories. Our training courses, customised to meet to the needs of the teams, combine theory and practice for a practical and effective approach.
What Drives Us
Animal welfare is not only an ethical issue, it is above all a crucial prerequisite for ensuring the quality of scientific studies. Animal welfare is also inherently linked to conservation, research and educational efforts carried out by teams in zoos.
